Senator, millions of children were already left behind because of the Education Department.
Many in blue states cannot pass basic core competency tests when they graduate high school including all of the children in some blue states. In fact, blue states like Oregon stopped even testing or requiring competency prior to graduation.
Are you saying that you don’t trust California, Oregon or New York to teach their own kids effectively without being dictated to from above? That seems to be a common failing of blue states…
All the red states love it; there does not need to be a federal agency for the states to educate their own kids.
Your effort is decimating education in every state you touch, including your own. Your state made its end-of-course competency exams optional years ago. If kids don’t have to take a competency test, they can’t fail it. Today only about 1 in 4 of your high school juniors test proficient in math, and you still don’t test them after 11th grade.
My own sister left your state after your state gutted education programs and virtually abandoned all special needs programs.
You have no voice here when your own state is an abject failure in this space, Ma’am!
